Join Puget Soundkeeper on the water! 10 volunteers will be outfitted in double kayaks to remove accumulated debris from the shores of Lake Union while an additional group combs the shoreline to capture discarded debris before it enters the water. All equipment is provided. No kayak experience necessary. Please dress for the weather.Volunteers are needed to clean, sort and prepare shoes for distribution to organizations that serve the homeless and underprivileged throughout the Puget Sound area. Since being founded in 2011, Redeeming Soles has provided over 200,000 pairs of shoes, both directly to those in need and to organizations serving them.

Parking and travel
Parking is free in the stalls facing Westlake Avenue one block north of NWOC. The 40 bus line stops right at this location, and 26 and 28 stop nearby.

What to bring
Please dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes. Wear clothing that can get wet and/or muddy, and bring an extra set of clothes if you wish to change afterwards. Old tennis shoes are a good option if you don’t have water shoes. If it is sunny, consider wearing a hat and sunscreen and bring plenty of water. All kayaking and cleanup equipment is provided. Minors will need waivers signed in advance.
